On-Site Fishing

Located on Spring Creek between Mitchell Lake and Sheridan Lake, Firehouse Campground features one of the area’s best trout fishing holes.
A Fishing License is required. Kids under 16 do not need a license when fishing with a guardian who has a valid SD fishing license.

Off-Highway Vehicle Visitors to the Black Hills National Forest will find over 3,600 miles of roads and trails designated open for motorized travel.

Biking Trails

Hill City showcases some of the best mountain biking trails in the state. The Mickelson Trail’s gentle slopes and easy access allow people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the beauty of the Black Hills. There are more than 100 converted railroad bridges and four hard rock tunnels along the 109 mile route.
